Oscar for Johnny Depp as CMV go multi-generational

Oscar Eastwood (8yrs) was one of the first children to check-in for Columbus' cruise on Friday 4th August and was surprised to be welcomed by look-a-like 'Captain Jack Sparrow'. It was a milestone in CMV’s continued expansion as the first multi-generational cruise passengers arrived at the London Cruise Terminal at Tilbury. Grandparents, mum and dad, plus the excited grandchildren stepped on board Columbus for cruise to the Norwegian fjords.

CMV are operating two multi-generational cruises this year. Young Oscar was joining more than 150 children and their family members on this one week cruise. Whilst there are no special facilities on board, the two 2017 special cruises have proved popular. The next cruise down to the Canary Islands & Madeira that departs on Friday 11 August is also nearly a sell out with 180 plus children. Next year CMV plan eight multi-generational cruises from Tilbury, Liverpool and Bristol, during the school holiday periods, such has been the appeal of the trend setting concept. Child fares are from £99pp sharing with two adults.

Mike Hall, Head of Marketing at CMV said "Some of our regular passengers, who enjoy traditional British style cruising, said they would like the opportunity to bring all the family. So, we decided to offer these two multi-generational cruises with the emphasis on family fun and enabling families to spend quality time together. There are no specific child facilities on CMV ships but we have made life a little easier for the family with special drinks packages, popular films, games and competitions."
