CMV ready for kick off with Nissan

Cruise & Maritime Voyages is ready for the European Champions League Final in Wales this coming Saturday. CMV’s 46,000 tonnes cruise ship Magellan, that can accommodate up to 1300 passengers, has been chartered as a ‘floating hotel’ in Newport by global car manufacturer Nissan to coincide with the football final.

Magellan is one of the company’s five passenger ships and will be returning from a Medieval Cities & River Seine cruise early on Friday morning 2 June. Earlier this year she sailed around the world on a 120 night cruise. After the charter by Nissan, Magellan will revert to her normal role as a cruise ship and will head off on a short cruise to Dublin before sailing to the Norwegian Fjords. Meanwhile another of CMV’s ships Marco Polo has been running a series of cruise departures from Cardiff.

Chris Coates, Commercial Director of CMV said “We were most excited when two years ago we were able to seal the deal with Nissan. We are often approached by major companies who wish to charter one of our ships. Our cruising programme from Wales this year has been most successful so next year we will be back with cruises from Cardiff.”
